USB Device not recognized! How to fix this error?
“USB Device not recognized” a very common and annoyed error that many of us faced multiple times while trying to plug-in any USB device like pen drive, mouse, keyboard, external hard drive or other USB devices. That is very annoying situations when your system suddenly stop recognize your USB device.
So if you are getting this error again and again, “USB Device not recognized: One of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it.” then check these simple steps that can easily helps you to solve-out this problem.
Step 1:- First of all, confirm the USB ports is working or not, If your other USB device working on this port, then your hardware is in good condition, if not working then proceed to next step. (some of my friends getting this error because of USB port)
Step 2:- Restart your system and again try to plug-in, if error still comes, then shut down your computer/laptop and switch off from power/remove battery for few minutes and then start your system, May be it solves your problem.

Step 3:- Uninstall the USB driver from Device manager, check it below how to:
Click Start, type Device Manager in the Search box
Click Device Manager from the returned list.
Click Disk Drives from the list of hardware
Right-click the USB external hard drive with the issue, and click Uninstall.
After the hard drive is uninstalled, unplug the USB cable.
Wait for one minute and then reconnect the USB cable. The driver should automatically load
Check for the USB drive in Windows Explorer

Step 4:- Go to device manager and then uninstall all devices under Universal Serial Bus(USB) controllers. Once complete, restart your computer.
Step 5:- If all above 4 steps didn’t work for you, then install latest update or also update your motherboard drivers.
